Visiting Scholar - Policy
A program for visiting scholars for periods of less than 12 months in duration.
University policy states that: ‘The title of Visiting Scholar may be conferred on suitably qualified visitors who wish to exchange expertise, carry out joint research, etc., with members of a faculty.’
We interpret this to mean that (as a general rule) a visiting scholar will have a background and/or current research directions compatible with members of the teaching and research staff of the School of Psychology.
Applicants are advised to initiate contact with a staff member who shares their research interest, describing their research project, how they intend to conduct research and the preferred length of their visit, commencement and end dates for the visit. Lists of staff and their research areas are available on the school website. It is necessary that a staff member be prepared to sponsor a proposed Visiting Scholar.
